Alfonso Vivero has joined the Derivi Castellanos Architects (DCA) team! As a Designer, he will be drafting state-of-the-art school buildings and helping DCA to deliver high quality projects throughout California’s Central Valley and Greater Bay Area region. Alfonso brings 23 years of industry experience and considers himself a fast learner who adapts to change and enjoys a new challenge. He has always loved to draw (inspired by watching Bob Ross) and as a child was curious about how structures were built. He admired and fondly remembers his uncle, who was a carpenter and built many houses.
For Alfonso, architecture was the right fit! The transition from drawing by hand (people, landscapes, cartoons) to designing with the computer was similar to learning a new language. Alfonso continues to enjoy creating 3D modeling and seeing the end result.
Working on school projects is meaningful for Alfonso, who has three grown daughters and has witnessed the importance of having relevant school facilities. He is excited to contribute to places where kids will learn and play. Alfonso enjoys 3D modeling and getting to see the end result of his work, and his words of wisdom include “always double check your work before sending it to the client!”
In his free time, Alfonso is with his family and working in his yard…and drawing, of course. He has received an honorable mention for his artwork in several contests. He is happy to have passed on this skill to his daughters as well.
Welcome aboard, Alfonso!
