To Derivi Castellanos Architects as Senior Project Manager. Kim appreciates all the bonds and relationships she builds with her clients in her role as Senior Project Manager. Client satisfaction and family values are the foundation of Kim’s work ethic. We are ecstatic to welcome her to the DCA family where we also pride ourselves on the joy instilled in our clients when they step into the new environments we design for them.

She uses creative solutions to address school site issues and implement changes suggested by educators and administrators who live and work in these facilities. As a Senior Project Manager, she is highly adept at navigating the complicated and diverse needs of code enforcement agencies, cities, school districts, and other stakeholders and end users.
Kim exemplifies the finest characteristics of an effective project manager. She actively listens to client concerns, keenly interprets their needs, and is flexible and adaptive throughout the process, all while maintaining the budget and the end users’ goals at the forefront.
With DCA she is currently working on the modernization of Earl Legette Elementary School for the San Juan Unified School District. This intensive project includes: the addition of a new multipurpose and music room, a functional redesign of the library, repurposing the old multipurpose room into a fresh new art and science space, improvements to the teacher work room, as well as the addition of four kindergarten classrooms including one TK classroom, and an outdoor learning area. Kim is also executing important projects for Modesto City Schools and the Greenfield Union School District.
Prior to her thriving architecture career of 23 years, she started a home health care company with her wife Lisa. Kim and Lisa have been married 26 years and have raised five children together. Kim now has six grandchildren, she spends most of her free time with them, her 2 German shepherds and chihuahua, and is getting back into working out and weightlifting.
Welcome to the team, Kim!
